What to expect for the 2012 Olympics.

#14 Go youngster go.

We can't wait to see what Missy Franklin can do in the pool. The Colorado native won five medals in last year's World Games and we're hoping she can pull in more than her share in London. How cool of a summer is this for a girl who's still in high school?

Since the 1988 Olympics in Seoul the US has won the most combined medals at each of the Olympics. It helps that our country is huge and we have lots of athletes competing in various fields, but it's also cool to win the medal count year after year. Let's keep it up gang!

13: Spike that ball ladies.
Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor stole our hearts in Athens when they absolutely dominated woman's volleyball. They kept the winning up in Beijing to continue their undefeated run in the Olympics. Can the dynamic duo keep it up this year? We're hoping they saved a little magic for one last run.
12: Goal!!!!!!!
It'll be fun to see what the woman's soccer team will do. We also can't wait to see Hope Solo in action because, well, she's Hope Solo! We hope to see a rematch with Japan who beat us in the World Cup in a shoot-out.
11: Another summer of strange mascots.
It's not that we're going to judge Wedlock and Mandeville for being weird, ok, we are. What's up with two one eyed dudes that have flippers for hands? And why are they always dancing? Maybe England is trying to distract us so they can finally win some gold medals.
10: Straight faces.
You know those guards in the big black hats and red jackets? We'll be seeing a lot of shots of them during the telecast. Will they ever be smiling? Probably not. It's a rumor that in order to get the job you must be devoid of happiness.
9: Rain.
London has never been know for it's clear blue skies. It's more associated with grayness and on and off rain. It is summertime so we can expect more sunny days and hotter whether, but we'll see more than a few showers come through town.
8: What ad companies come up with.
No one will ever mistake the Olympics for the Super Bowl, but with the whole world watching you better believe the advertisers will have their games faces on. Will we get some funny ads that will turn into classics? We sure hope so.
7: How Facebook and Twitter will bring the athletes closer to us.
Social media has blown up since the last Olympics in Beijing. Now, practically every athlete has a Twitter and Facebook account and can keep us in the loop as to what's going on every minute. It'll be cool to see how much more engaging the Olympics are now that we are so close with the athletes.
6: Does Yevgeniya Kanayeva continue coming in first?
Yevgeniya Kanayeva has had a strong grip as the best lady in Rhytmic Gymnastics, but her fellow countrywoman Daria Kondakova has come in second in the last three World Championships. Is this the year a changing of the guard takes place or does Kanayeva continue to awe the judges and us all?
5: Swish.
Ever since the utter domination of the Dream Team back in 1992 the rest of the world has caught onto the sport of basketball. In Beijing the Redeem Team got the gold back for us, but don't expect Spain or Argentina to go down quietly.
4: Swim little fishy swim.
It'll be fun to see how much more Michael Phelps has left in his tank. He says this is his last Olympics so let's hope he goes out with a bang. Let's see if he can add to his total of fourteen gold medals for his career.
3: Get in my belly.
If there's a classic staple of English cuisine it's fish and chips. Sure, you can't eat them everyday because of the high fat content and sheer grease, but while the games are on it's time to splurge. Make them at home and you'll feel like you're in London, at a discounted rate of course.
2: Catch a bolt of lightening.
Usain Bolt has out of control speed and even crazier dedication to his craft. The dude dumped his girlfriend, who was smoking hot, so he could focus more on his training. Let's hope he doesn't regret that decision.
1: Lots of shots of Big Ben.
Big Ben is one of London's most widely know tourist attractions and will be on full display with the Olympics in town. Whenever the telecast cuts to commercial you can expect to see a shot of this classic landmark. That huge Ferris wheel in the background looks like more fun to us however.
