#14 George Zimmerman's Wife Charged With Perjury

 
On June 12, 2012, George Zimmerman's wife was accused of lying to a judge about their finances and faces one count of perjury. The state attorney claims that Shellie Zimmerman knowingly made false statement's regarding the couple's finances during an April hearing.

13: New Evidence In Trayvon Maritn Case – June 26, 2012
In a new report, detective Christopher Serino said, "His actions are inconsistent of those of a person who said he was in fear of another subject." Initially Zimmerman had confronted Martin from his vehicle and told police that he was too afraid to get out of the SUV. In spite of Zimmerman's supposed fear, he left the safety of his SUV to follow Martin.
12: Detective Chris Serino Reassigned To Patrol Duty
On the same day that a new report was released containing interrogations between Detective Serino and George Zimmerman, Mr. Serino volunteered to be reassigned to patrol duty. The new assignment will begin in July.
11: Zimmerman's Story On Video From Day After Shooting
The day after he shot Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman returned to the scene of the crime with detectives to reenact the scuffle that ended up with Zimmerman shooting and killing an unarmed 17 year old boy. This video was made public, several months after the shooting.

ABC posted this surveillance video from the 7-Eleven where Martin purchased Skittles and iced tea, shortly before he was shot by George Zimmerman. After seeing this video, Trayvon's mother turned down requests to be interviewed by Oprah and to appear on "The View."

On Father's Day Trayvon Martin's Father Tracy, reached out to fathers across America and requested that they contact the governors of their state in an effort to repeal "Stand Your Ground" laws. The video is posted on Youtube.
8: Al Sharpton Speaks Out
Speaking on CNN, The Reverand Al Sharpton speaks out in defense of the dignity of Trayvon Martin's family, citing that not once have they disrespected any court rulings that have emerged in the case against George Zimmerman. They have continued to express respect for the court's decisions, whether favorable towards them or not. On the other hand the haters of the world have publicly acted with utter disrespect towards the Martin family. Sharpton lashes out in anger towards the complete disrespect that has been expressed towards the life of the slain teenager.
7: Attorney Mark O'Mara, Solicits Donations
After bond was set at a million dollars for the release of George Zimmerman, Attorney Mark O'Mara solicited for donations for his client via the Internet. Zimmerman needs to come up with a million dollars worth of collateral, in addition to paying a $100,000 fee.
6: George Zimmerman Is Released From Jail
On Thursday July 5, in a ruling by a Florida Judge, George Zimmerman was released from jail on a one million dollar bond. This high amount was set based on the suspicion that Zimmerman had set aside a large amount of money to possibly use to flee the country. Based on Zimmerman's previous deceptive behavior, the judge make the following statement: "Under any definition, the defendant has flaunted the system."
4: George Zimmerman Is Electronically Monitored
Zimmerman was released from Jail for the second time on Friday July 6, with the provision that he obeys certain ground rules. He was fitted for an electronic monitoring device, before being released. Zimmerman's freedom is predicated on the following ground rules: No alcohol consumption, no leaving Seminole County without pre-authorization, no opening a bank account, and he is not allowed to visit the local airport.
3: Tracy Martin Speaking in New Orleans (July 6, 2012)
Upon learning of George Zimmerman's release from jail Tracy Martin spoke on CNN from New Orleans and said, "as we said from the beginning, we have strong faith in God, and we'll continue to lean on God and ask Him to give us the strength and continue to give us the faith in the justice system, and justice will prevail."
2: Sybrina Fulton Expresses Herself
Upon learning that George Zimmerman was once again released from jail, Sybrina Fulton said that knowing her son's killer "may walk free sometime, one day, it really hurts."
1: Crump Speaks for Trayvon Martin's Parents
Upon hearing of the $1 million bond for George Zimmerman, Benjamin Crump released a statement from Martin's parents. "Understand that this isn't a sprint to justice, but a long journey to justice that they must bear for their son."
