Kids need a place to go after school. Programs designed to help them learn positive behaviors can improve their future lives. Obama hasn't double funds to those programs, though.
7: Double the Peace Corps
Instead of just amping up the military, Obama promised to double the size of the Peace Corps. Promise broken.
6: Expand FMLA
Obama said he would work to expand FMLA to cover domestic violence and assault. So far, those people do not have protection under FMLA.
5: Required Sick Days
Obama said that he wanted to require employers to give workers seven paid sick days per year. People with disabilities still don't have that "luxury."
4: Double Federal Cancer Research Funds
The Federal government was supposed to double its cancer research funds. So far, that hasn't happened.
3: Require Automatic 401(k) Enrollment
Automatically enrolling employees in 401(k) programs would have helped people save for the future. Conservatives, however, don't want the government telling people how to use their money, even when it improves economic conditions for everyone.
2: Repeal Some of the Bush Taxes
Repealing Bush taxes for the highest earners would have helped tackle the national debt problem. But nothing has happened so far.
1: Close Gauntanamo Bay
Closing Guantanamo Bay was one of Obama's biggest promises. Of course, the military prison is still operating. Still, don't place all the blame on Obama. Congress did its part, too.
