15: Join A Gym
We know this may seem counter intuitive, but regular exercise has the side effect of boosting your over all energy level through out the day. If you want more energy, you must begin a daily exercise regimen. For most people, joining a gym is the answer.

13: Buy An Exercise DVD
If you lack the will power to do the calisthenics on your own or join a gym, pick up a good quality exercise DVD. Jackie Warner is one of the toughest and best personal trainers out there. Buy her DVD, do the workout every day and your energy level will skyrocket!
12: Ditch The Caffeine and Energy Drinks
Yes we know you are addicted to your morning coffee and your hourly blast of Red Bull – but we are telling you to ditch it right now. That's right. Go cold turkey. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that these drugs actually rob you of energy in the long run. They put you on the endless roller coaster ride of rising and falling blood sugar. The short term gain is definitely not worth the long term state of lethargy. Aside from which, caffeine is addicting!
11: Set Your Alarm Clock
Start setting your alarm clock for the same time every day. Yes you read that right. We said every day! This includes weekends. If you wake up at the same time every day, this begins to re-set your internal clock. The result is you will start going to bed earlier and your sleep patterns will begin to even out. This is imperative if you want to stop feeling tired and listless all day long.
10: Get 7 Hours Of Sleep Per Night
Look, we know you are not going to like this. But most of us really need a minimum of 7 hours of sleep per night. As soon as you feel tired, instead of reaching for the Red Bull - - go to sleep instead! Der! We know we sound like your mother, but guess what? Your Mom was right! Go to bed!
9: Do Not Hit The Snooze Button
Not to sound repetitious but we told you to get up at the same time every day and we meant it! Do not hit the snooze button. Do not turn off the alarm and roll over and oversleep. When you first hear your alarm clock, train yourself to actually get up before you turn off the blasted thing. This must become your new habit.
8: Exercise First Thing In The Morning
Yes we know, we know. We already told you to start a fitness regimen. And we meant it! But now we are taking it one step further. Do your workout every morning before starting your day. By exercising in the morning, you are essentially revving up your engine for the entire day. Think of it as a kick start, which is what you obviously need.
7: Stretch!
Get up and stretch periodically through out the day. Stretching will go a long way towards helping you to stay energized and alert. If you are not sure how to stretch we suggest getting a copy of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Yoga. You will not regret it.
6: Buy A Jump Rope
On those days when you can't squeeze in the daily workout, do a shorter, quickie workout. Jumping rope is the best for this. Do 3 sets of 100 and watch your energy soar.
5: Yes But My Knees
OK, we feel for you. We know you never fully recovered from your old high school foot ball accident. We understand that jumping rope may be out of your league. In that case for a shorter, quickie work out, we suggest 5 sets of pushups (10-25 pushups). No equipment required, therefore no excuses!
4: Stimulate Your Mind
One reason for chronic exhaustion is boredom. We understand completely. We used to hate our jobs too. We feel your pain. Do something fun at lunch time. Even surfing YouTube and indulging your passions for a half hour per day will go a long way towards boosting your mood and thus your energy. Or go to Amazon and buy something fun! This type of diversion might be all you need to ignite your fire.
3: Feed Your Head
Low grade depression is another reason for chronic exhaustion leaving you feeling tired and listless. To counter depression, once again you may need to pamper yourself more. Indulge your passions at least once a day. Ideally several times a day. Find ways to keep yourself feeling happy. Maybe go out at lunch time and buy some new shoes or plan to rent a movie for later that night. Maybe you need to subscribe to Netflix or start reading more. Doing the things you love to do on a daily basis will go a long way towards boosting your energy level.
2: Don't Nod Out
If you feel yourself nodding out at your desk, get up and take a quick, brisk walk. Go to the bathroom and wash your face with cold water. Yep, we did say cold water! And don't forget to do a few stretches while you are in the stall.
1: Maintain an Optimistic, Hopeful Outlook
Continuously set goals for yourself. Always be striving and moving towards that which you love. It helps to fill your social calendar with fun activities with friends. This is our number one secret to prevent that feeling of chronic exhaustion. Always be looking forward to something.
