There is no proven link between sugar and hyperactivity. However, it’s still best to give kids foods that provide energy and nutrients instead of those that take that away.
9: Eating six mini meals is better than consuming three larger meals
Honestly, it’s all about serving size. By working yourself up to six mini meals a day, it’s very easy to consume the same number of calories as you would eating your regular breakfast, lunch and dinner.
8: Fast Food salads are the "healthier" option
Salads can be healthier under some circumstances, but in other cases it’s been proven that salads from Pizza Hut, Burger King and even McDonald’s have just as many fat calories as certain foods on their regularly priced menu.
7: Coffee is bad for your health
Although drinking a few cups of coffee can keep you up for days, it’s actually been proven that coffee can protect against several health defects (i.e., Type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease).
6: Carbs such as bread will make you fat
False. If you base your grocery shopping solely on the idea that certain brands sound better, like “seven grain,” you’ll end up right back where you started. The key to carbs is eating them in moderation.
5: You should drink eight glasses of water a day
Although water is one of the best ways to stay dehydrated, there are other drinks that can also help quench your thirst. Your water intake varies from person to person, but all in all you should drink what you think is best for you.
4: Dry-roasted peanuts are healthier than oil-roasted
Although this is true, let’s not exaggerate the benefits of our favorite dry-roasted nuts. Try sticking to an ounce of healthier choices (i.e., almonds, walnuts) rather than trying many different types at once.
3: Grapefruit helps you burn fat
Ever heard of the Grapefruit Diet? It’s certainly not a myth! However, to be effective this Hollywood Diet must encompass a combination of fluid and fat weight loss. It’s believed that enzymes in a grapefruit help you burn fat, but in reality it’s a temporary weight loss and overestimation of a grapefruits value.
2: Lettuce slims your figure
Having barely any calories makes it all the more reasonable to assume that lettuce can slim ones figure. In most cases, a change can be seen when eaten alone, that is without having all the access condiments and dressing.
1: Yogurt is the best diet food
Yogurt has just as much sugar as any other foods you’d least expect. It may not be “bad” for you, but too much sugar won’t affect your weight only put a strain on it.
