At 12:38am, 33 minutes after the movie started, the gunman tossed 2 gas canisters and began shooting at the audience walking slowly up the aisle.

Suspect Arrested
At 12:45 am, James Holmes was arrested outside the theatre next to his white Hyundai. He was found carrying weapons. He also indicated that possible explosives coud be found in his home.

Weapons
The suspect was carrying three weapons during the shooting, including a .223 caliber Smith & Wesson assault rifle. He had purchased 4 guns at a local shop and purchased over 6,000 rounds of ammunition on the internet.

Booby Trapped
Holmes' apartment was booby trapped and according to officials, 'set up to kill'. The police also found a Batman mask in the apartment.

TMZ discovered that James Holmes has an Adult Friend Finder account that was created on July 5th.

The suspect made his court appearance Monday, July 23rd. This is the public's first look at Holmes. He could be facing the death penalty.

Holmes is 24 years old. He was studying at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver until he recently dropped out. He got his bachelors degree in neuroscience at the University of California at Riverside.
