What do you need to know? She's an exotic dancer, mentally unstable, built for loving and ... green. And, she was the first of a long line of aliens Captain Kirk conquered during his voyage to where no man has gone before.
14: Chief Science Officer T'Pol
The first of the long line of Vulcan science officers, T'Pol is the first Vulcan officer to serve a prolonged term on a human vessel. T'Pol is considerably more emotional than many other Vulcans and has always struggled to control her emotions, something that greatly concerned her mother. Her emotions became even more difficult to control following an exposure to trellium ore, a toxic substance which damaged the part of her brain responsible for emotional control. It acts as an aphrodisiac for her. Duly noted.
13: Kes
Kes is an Ocampa, a special species native to the Delta Quadrant. She's a bit of a mind reader and a medical student as well as being Neelix's main squeeze. Okay, you need to know this: She's two-years-old. That's illegal even in Mississippi.
12: Android Andrea
We feel a bit self-conscious putting a robot ahead of some real, living, breathing ladies, but Andrea's charms are undeniable. She has the distinction of being the first woman Captain Kirk kisses, and when he does so, he blows out her circuits.
11: Ensign Demora Sulu
Demora Sulu was a Starfleet ensign serving aboard the Excelsior-class USS Enterprise NCC-1701-B under the command of Captain John Harriman in 2293. The daughter of Hikaru Sulu, she carried on her father's legacy as helmsman of the Enterprise. Jacqueline Kim portrayed Sulu and did an EXCELLENT job.
10: Keiko O'Brien
Wife of Chief Engineer Miles O'Brien and a professional botanist, Keiko starts a school on Deep Space 9. She's sweet, loyal, brave and very smart. So what's she doing with Miles?
9: Ro Laren
Ro joins the crew as a troubled young Bajoran officer who had been court-martialled while serving on the USS Wellington, for disobeying orders on an away mission, resulting in eight deaths. She was imprisoned on Jaros II, but Admiral Kennelly gives her a second chance by assigning her to a mission alongside Picard and the Enterprise crew. Once past her initial hostility, Ro forms friendships with several Enterprise crew members, including Ten Forward bar manager Guinan, Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge and Commander William Riker. She can be our friend anytime.
8: Chief Science Officer Jadzia Dax
Chief Science Officer Jadzia Dax is a Trill, a symbiont, there's another life inside of her. This makes relationships a bit ... weird. But think of it this way, you get two for the price of one, an automatic menage a trois.
7: Kira Nerys
This Bajoran Militia officer aboard Deep Space Nine is acting as the station's executive officer under the Starfleet officer posted to command the facility. She's been a guerrilla fighter, refugee and a leader of the Shakaar resistance cell. Played by Nana Visitor, she's rough, tough and always ready for action ... just the way we like it.
6: Ensign Ezri Dax
Okay: She's another Trill. As played by Nicole de Boer, she could be our third wheel any time she wants. Due to her insecurity, she's sometimes referred to as the "Ally McTrill" of the series. Do you think you could make her feel more secure?
5: Ensign Hoshi Sato
Sato is the communication officer aboard the starship Enterprise (NX-01), and also a linguist who speaks more than forty languages, including Klingon. She is an acknowledged expert at operating the universal translator, which was a key instrument in allowing cultures from different worlds to communicate. Actress Linda Park rocked the character.
4: Counselor Deanna Troi
Counselor Deanna Troi, as played by Marina Sirtis, was a very special asset to Captain Picard and the Enterprise. She was an effective counselor because she was part Betazoid and could read minds. Let's just hope she's not around when I'm thinking about her.
3: B'Elanna Torres
B'Elanna Torres; the half-Klingon, half-Human leader of engineering on Voyager; may have run off to the dark side when she joined the Maquis, but she was an amazing asset to the Federation. Played by Roxann Dawson, Torres may not have had a great sense of humor, but we could always depend on her in a knife fight.
2: Nyota Uhura
Nichelle Nichols secures second place as Nyota Uhura, master of communications. She made be old school Star Trek, but she sure does speak our language.
1: Seven-of-Nine
Jeri Ryan wins the top position in our list. As Seven-of-Nine, she can take us out of this world any time she wants. The only thing I can't figure out is her name. Nine? I'd give her a 10.
