Linguist David Peterson created an entire language for the Dothraki dialogue practiced by Khal Drogo and crew. It's a mixture of Mongolian, American Indian and Arabic languages that differs completely from the Dothraki cited in the actual 'Game of Thrones' book.
10: Reading Is For Grown Folks
Arya's real-life counterpart, Maisie Williams, was barred from reading 'Game of Thrones' because her mother felt the content too inappropriate for her age. She's 15, by the way.
9: Tyrion The Family Man
The real-life Tyrion, Peter Dinklage, is a happily-married, 42-year-old father who resides in upstate New York with theatre director Erica Schmidt and their baby girl. In addition, he grew up in an all-boy Catholic high school, and he first started acting way back when he was a wee lad.

According to insider gossip, the actor who plays Ned Stark, Sean Bean, once tried to steal sandwiches from the actress who plays Cersei, Lena Headey. It was lunch and we guess he was really hungry!
7: Crazier Than Fiction
Ned Stark actor Sean Bean was arrested on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, for allegedly harassing his ex-wife, Georgina Sutcliffe. It can be assumed Sean and Georgina don't share the same type of love that Ned and Catelyn did!

The author of 'Game of Thrones,' George R. R. Martin, is 63 years old. That's pretty old, and we all know how fragile life can be at that day. In preparation, good ol' George revealed to the show's producers the fate of all our beloved characters. So have no fear; the end will eventually come, whether George is here to see it with us or not.
5: Swords And A Barber
Tommy Dunne designed thousands of weapons for 'Game of Thrones' by researching Egyptian, Naive American and Mongolian weaponry. The weapons used by the white walkers were made from an acrylic resin. Dunne himself can be seen in the pilot episode. He plays the barber who shaves the boys' beards.
4: The Wall
The humongous Wall seen in 'Game of Thrones' actually rises only 18 feet in real life. The rest of the wall was fitted into the show using computer-generated imagery.
3: Yummy Grub
All the food featured during the Winterfell and King's Landing feasts were actually cooked in real life, though most of it was later thrown out. According to the show's set decorator, Richard Roberts, Winterfell's food was mainly "basic and hearty," while King's Landing food consisted of rich and exotic, Mediterranean-style cuisine.

Though Sansa and Arya bicker almost nonstep, their real-life counterparts, Sophie Turner and Maise Williams, are actually really good friends. We hope Sansa and Arya one day learn to love each other just like Sophie and Maise!
1: The Charming Monster
Jack Gleeson is the unlucky lad tasked with playing the despicable and regnant Joffrey. However, according to George R. R. Martin, he's nothing like his character. In fact, George describes him as a "very nice young man, charming and friendly."
