While actors are supposed to "get into" their roles to prepare for a movie, most of the cast went above and beyond before filming. In order to play the part of Dr. Curt Connors, Rhys Ifans spent numerous hours with individuals who had lost a limb, learning how to tie a tie, make coffee and do other tasks with only one hand.

Or are there? Since most movies don't stay true to their original forms, The Amazing Spider-Man is tweaked a bit when it comes to the storyline. One example being the inclusion of Gwen Stacy who doesn't play a vital role in The Amazing Spider-Man series for an immense amount of time.

Though it wasn't confirmed until recently, the Amazing Spider-Man will be a part of a trilogy as the original film series was. There's no word yet on plots or villains but Sony has already hired writers and crew members for the upcoming sequels.

Like most action/animation films released today, The Amazing Spider-Man was filmed in 3D using the new RED Epic camera which allowed the crew to portray the leading character in different web-slinging action scenes around the city.

Instead of letting digital graphics take the helm, action director Vic Armstrong was brought in to coordinate the film's stunts. Incorporating parkour not only helped create a few incredible scenes but allowed most of the cast, including Andrew Garfield, to refrain from using doubles.
