Houston's infamous interview with Diane Sawyer about her drug use in 2002. "Crack is wack," she muttered, although she fessed up to occasionally using other forms of cocaine, plus marijuana and pills.

Born in March 1993, Bobbi Kristina attended the 1994 Grammys with her parents, where Whitney won big for The Bodyguard soundtrack and its lead single, "I Will Always Love You." As Bobbi Kristina got older, she became Whitney's best friend, confidante, and her protector.
5: Grammy Queen
Pictured here at the 1986 Grammys Awards, Houston would eventually win six Grammys, two Emmy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards plus more. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, she was the most awarded female singer of all time.
4: LimeLight Discovery
When Whitney was only 20 years old, she was discovered in NYC nightclub, LimeLight in 1986. Clive Davis, founder and then-CEO of Arista Records, heard Houston and quickly gave her a record deal, mentoring her until her death.
3: Best Vocal
At the 1987 Grammys, the "Greatest Love of All" singer won a Best Female Pop Vocal trophy, one of her many stunning achievements.
2: Being Bobby Brown
The short lived reality show aired in 2005 where Whitney popularized the phrase "Hell to the no!" The Soup also featured Houston loudly shouting "Kiss my ass!" as a running gag, naming it its Clip of the Year.
1: She's International
At the Nov. 2009 American Music Awards Houston won an International Artist Award. Here, her voice was noticeably weaker and raspier from years of drug abuse, but she managed to pull off a moving performance.
