The personal side and the business side. Every family member is a main cast member, even when Kim is the one people tune in for. Once you start loving the show, you start loving her family too.

Kim Kardashian started a family owned boutique, called Dash, in California. It was started in 2006. One year later, the Kardashian reality TV show aired.
12: Younger Years
Even before her arrival to the Hollywood scene, Kim Kardashian had seen her family and friends in the public eye. Her father, Robert Kardashian, was OJ Simpson's attorney. Her stepfather is an Olympian. Her friends Paris and Nicky Hilton, were top socialites at her grade school. Kim was an observer, and she knew she could become a leader.

Kim Kardashian is one of the founders of ShoeDazzle.com; An online shoe company that requires a subscription. Her knowledge of the latest fashion trends has helped ShoeDazzle gain $40 million in funding during this last year.
10: Kim the Spokesperson
Kim also makes money by being the spokesperson for almost any brand that comes her way. From weight loss pills, sneakers, acne cream, Kim Kardashian will promote anything. There is a marketing rule that a spokesperson needs to have used the product before promotion. And even in her show she'll do some extra promo time. Kim has made Keeping Up With the Kardashians become a commercial time slot for brands.

The reason Kim's reality TV took off was because of Kim's, and her family's, appeal. Not just the attractivness, or the humor, but the honesty. Kim opens up to Oprah about her depression she suffered through.
8: Working With Sears
The Kardashians are bringing their name to an affordable level at Sears department stores. The sisters have been doing press releases at Sears location, giveaways, and have been doing racy lingerie ads. The Kardashian Kollection can be seen in stores and online.
7: Sponsors
The Kardashian name is huge, and everybody wants a piece of the empire. Kim's wedding was all paid for by the TV network and sponsors. Kim actually made money marrying Chris Humphries. Corporations know how much the Kardashian name is worth, so product placement, especially at the wedding, created a lot of buzz. Kim and Chris made $17.9 million off their wedding.
6: Keeping Up
The Kardashian's reality TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, is Kim's major marketing tool. Everything the public reads or hears will be seen on the show. Everything is documented, from the Jenner sisters' modeling gigs to Kim's marital problems and divorce.

Kris Jenner is Kim's mother and manager. She tells Oprah that she does "pimp" her kids out, but her kids pimp themselves out too. This family knows what each other is doing, and with honesty like this, they are bound to stay successful in the long run.

Kim Kardashian and her sisters started a QVC clothing line called K-Dash Collection. They took their style and made it mom friendly, for those who shop by TV.

Kim knows who her target audience is. She knows who is watching her. What they are interested in. Why they are interested in her. And Kim uses that to her advantage.
1: Kim's Reflection
Kim Kardashian's newest campaign is her fragrance, called True Reflection. In a black bottle, her scent is seen as mysterious and alluring. True Reflection is a true reflection of Kim.
